Book of Mormon Contradictions
II Kings 25:7; “And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon.”
Heleman 8:21; “And now will you dispute that Jerusalem was destroyed? Will ye say that the sons of Zedekiah were not slain, all except it were Mulek? Yea, and do ye not behold that the seed of Zedekiah are with us, and they were driven out of the land of Jerusalem? But behold, this is not all—”
Well who’s telling the truth here? And why would the Bible lie about such an event? There’s even further evidence from the Bible that all of Zedekiah’s sons were killed before they plucked his eyes out.
Jeremiah 39:6 “Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.”
Mulek is in fact a god of the Ammonites. The Ammonites would sacrifice their children to this god in hopes of appeasing his tumultuous demeanor and gain favor with him in order to win wars against the Israelites.
Joseph Smith changed the meaning of this word as a reference to a holy land as well as the name of a son of Zedekiah. The Bible is replete with information about Mulek (Molech) and in no way ever refers to him as anything but evil. http://lifeafterministry.com/2011/01/11/demonic-and-ungodly-names-in-the-book-of-mormon-1
