Water or Wine at Lord’s Supper?
D&C 89:5-6; “That inasmuch as any man drinketh wine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together to offer up your sacraments before him. 6 And, behold, this should be wine, yea, pure wine of the grape of the vine, of your own make.”
Matthew 26:27-28; “And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
Why does the Church administer water and not wine at the Lord’s Supper? According to the commandment in Doctrine and Covenants they’re not obeying what God told them to do.
Furthermore, taking away any color in that cup also takes away the remembrance of what Christ did on that cross.
