“For Latter-day Saints, the need to rescue our brothers and sisters who have, for one reason or another, strayed from the path of Church activity is of eternal significance. Do we know of such people who once embraced the gospel? If so, what is our responsibility to rescue them?…
During the Master’s ministry, He called fishermen at Galilee to leave their nets and follow Him, declaring, “I will make you fishers of men.”…May we join the ranks of the fishers of men and women, that we might provide whatever help we can…
Ours is the duty to reach out to rescue those who have left the safety of activity…It is my prayer that we might have a desire to rescue the less active and to bring them back to the joy of the gospel of Jesus Christ, that they might partake with us of all that full fellowship has to offer.”
The quote above comes from the president of the Mormon Church, Thomas Monson in the Liahona, October 2013. The problems of this First Presidency Message are most glaring just from its title alone, but even more so as we read his message that Mormons are the saviors of those who are no longer active in the Church.
The very last sentence in the quote above is very telling is it not? If someone is brought back into the gospel then what is meant by “that they might partake with us of all that full fellowship has to offer”?
What is full fellowship? Does it mean being temple worthy and handing over your W-2’s so the Church knows you’re really paying your full 10%?
Does it mean that you have to be a teacher or leader or bishop?
What if that isn’t what Jesus wants for you to do? Are you still in full fellowship then?
And of course there’s that title of the message…
People in the Church aren’t the saviors of men and regardless of what leaders of the Church have said in the past, this just isn’t so.
Jesus is the Only Savior. He’s the Only Redeemer. He’s the Only one we must go through to receive salvation! He’s the one person who rescues us from hell.
So along with all the other duties Mormons must perform to get saved; now they’re responsible for the jack-Mormons, aka non-active members.
Pray for the Mormons this weekend as they watch the General Conference and their heads are filled with a slew of lies from all their leaders in two days.
I will be in prayer – and I gave your blog a nice push in an article I just published. I especially appreciate your witnessing tips!

Thanks for the link and many thanks for praying too!
I find this post odd. You are spending so much effort to convince Mormon people that they are wrong. When you could spend more time doing good for other people rather than bashing someone’s religion–because bashing a religion isn’t very Christlike.

What on our site isn’t Christlike?
Why is it important to you that I go about doing good for others?
What project or charity or good thing should I be doing?
How much time each day should I be doing these good things?
To whom should I be checking in with to ensure I’m serving in the proper capacity and right organization?
How do you know I don’t do other things besides this?
Where would your god have me serve if not warning others about false teachers?
Is there a specific time or place we need to do the good things you’re talking about?
What do I tell the Lord if I stop doing what He’s called me to do here?
I’m unclear as to what exactly your expectations are of doing good is. If I help my neighbor is that good or what about the times I spend at Children’s Hospital showing my daughters how to take gifts to the cancer patients? Is that okay? What about the time, effort and money we donate to all the children’s organizations or the truckloads of clothing, furniture and food we take to the homeless and battered women shelters? Are those okay?
I won’t indulge the prideful side of mankind to list all the things we do so I ask you what exactly constitutes good things?
What is on our site that isn’t Christlike? Where have we “bashed” the Mormon people? Please be specific.
Know that we’re praying for you.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
