Journal of Discourses 2:75-87; “When the servants of God and their wives go to heaven there is an eternal union, and they will multiply and replenish the world to which they are going.” – Orson Hyde, Salt Lake City, October 6, 1854
Mark 12:24-25; “And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.”
I’ve mentioned before that at the end of my life in Mormonism I began praying God would send me to hell if it meant I’d be pregnant for all of eternity. While the sarcastic side of me laughs at such a statement now, that wasn’t the case at all when I was living through it.
Did you notice Mr. Hyde’s statement in full? He said they’ll replenish te world to which they are going… Does this mean when you finally reach godhood status that you’re not the one picking and choosing the area where you’d like your planet to be?
Now that the Church has rewritten their beliefs on this subject and nixing the idea they’ll actually become gods what does that mean for all those who lived and died believing this?
Why wouldn’t they know here where they’re going at a later date?
