2 Nephi 10:24; “24 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; and remember, after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved.”
2 Nephi 25:23; “23 For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.”
Psalms 5:8-9; “Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. 9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.”
Ephesians 2:8-9; “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
How can anyone be sure of salvation if the canon contradicts itself like this?
If you’re LDS what are your thoughts on this?
What are your thoughts about the god of Mormonism that you’ve chosen to worship?
I ask this in all humbleness before you with no animosity intended! When I was LDS these are the types of things I thought about.
I wondered about the contradictory messages I read within LDS approved materials and it concerned me that I’d somehow miss the mark of being with Jesus in the end.
I didn’t want to wait till I got there to find out if I’d done the wrong thing or not, hence, my concern and worry.
I didn’t have a problem with being obedient to the god I was worshiping, but I did have issues with the contradictions.
In all honesty, I questioned the eternal plan of forever families or why my feelings in heaven would change so drastically if I didn’t approve of the polygamy idea here on earth. If I was being raised and taught to be chaste here on earth and not have sexual relations with anyone outside of marriage, then why or how could that change in heaven?
Why would it suddenly be okay for my husband to have multiple wives?
