Does it seem reasonable to you that an omniscient, omnipotent God would keep having people traipse back and forth in a land plagued with war?
Does it sound reasonable that people in BC 600 would be walking back and forth like this? Why doesn’t the Book of Mormon give any details about all these long walks?
Why didn’t this Book of Mormon god have them gather all these things at the onset of their journey out of Jerusalem to begin with?
Why were these Israelites marrying the daughters of Ishmael? The Israelites knew why Jerusalem had been sacked in BC 587, and they knew it was because of their disobedience. With that in mind, why would Lehi tell his sons to purposefully marry into a godless nation? It’s as if he was giving permission to his family to defy God.
To think this whole thing through even further, why did they leave for Egypt when God told the Israelites not to do such a thing???
Jeremiah 42:17; “So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them.”
