John 1:10-11; “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”
Doctrine and Covenants 76:41-42;“That he came into the world, even Jesus, to be crucified for the world, and to bear the sins of the world, and to sanctify the world, and to cleanse it from all unrighteousness; 42 That through him all might be saved whom the Father had put into his power and made by him.”
Romans 4:25; “Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.”
We’re wondering how these people sleep at night with all the contradictory doctrines they pass off to the Mormon people. Just when does guilt kick in, or even shame? The countless lies they’ve told over the last two centuries are remarkable!
When Heber J. Grant stood up and told people the only way to salvation is through obedience to the commandments, did he think of Smith’s ‘prophecy’ above?
Did Smith think of this prophecy as he was delivering the King Follet Sermon which told people there are many gods, and the God of the Bible didn’t create the earth? Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp.342-362.
Did Brigham think of Smith’s prophecy when he declared Jesus was contaminated?

The fact that Mormonism is not Christian, but uses similar terms with completely different meanings, is known. (See sidebar: “Mormons Worship a Different Jesus, Ensign, Nov. 2007, pg 40; “…our view of the Godhead breaks with post–New Testament Christian history… ” – Jeffrey R. Holland”

and more…)
Added to this, is that Mormon writings plagiarize the Bible, change the wording, and then add more of men’s ideas to them. On top of that, Mormon leaders have so-called revelations and prophesies morphing the LDS doctrines into something ‘new’ all the time. Confusing this, are the past changes in writings which are not superseded or deleted or amended. They are just left wherever they are!
Going back my first sentence, where we start with “apples vs. oranges” or Christianity vs. Mormonism, makes it clearer. Trying to compare the two, is futile as they are not even the same religion. What to do?
By just reading the Bible ALONE, without any other Mormon writings, you will learn the difference. The Holy Spirit will teach you, guide you to true repentance, then show you the freedom in Jesus Christ. That’s it!
Oh, I couldn’t agree more! One thing you said struck me straightaway – their new rewritten prophecies are just left where they are even if it doesn’t make theological sense. It’s as if they’re floating out there near the imaginary Kolob some place. How very sad for them and distressing as well!
