From the outside looking in, it’s easy to see the Mormon gospel is a bag of mixed messages. However, for those on the inside blatant contradictions are either missed, and/or ignored.
Reality: the nuance of the Mormon god’s gospel is anything but endearing.
We came across two varying opinions of God’s love for us on another site which gave us pause, and prompted the obvious question…
Which prophet do you believe?
Gordon B. Hinckley
“In moments of quiet, we reflect upon His matchless life and His unconditional love for each of us.” — December 1993 LDS Christmas Devotional
OR …
Russell M. Nelson
“While divine love can be called perfect, infinite, enduring, and universal, it cannot correctly be characterized as unconditional.” — Ensign, ‘Divine Love,’ February 2003
If you’re LDS, we pray that you know without a doubt God loves you regardless. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, and there is no sin so great that He wouldn’t forgive you immediately. We find comfort, and a most welcome reassurance in both John 3:17, and 1 John 1:9.
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Remember beloved, God’s dear word tells us we’re to reject messages like this!
“Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.”
Oh, how we pray you’ll accept God’s free gift of salvation!
If you’re not sure how to go about doing this, all you have to do is ask Him to forgive you of your sins, and then ask for His Holy Spirit to reside inside of you. It’s really that easy!
The Romans Road is a great tool to use if you’re unsure how to begin.

Unfortunately, this is what happens when we deviate from God’s UNCHANGING word (the Bible), and men take over.
I’ve watched several of Dave Bartosiewicz YouTube videos. He will interview mostly LDS & sometimes Christians at temple square. Dave will pose a question and the responses he gets from the LDS are all over the board.
God wouldn’t put us in such a position to choose which Prophets, Apostle, or GA to believe.
So confusing, 😕 Melissa
What you said is SO TRUE!!!
It’s one of the reason I was so relieved after I accepted the Lord into my heart. God backs up what He says in His word – we see this time and again with the evidence that the Church is still here, and with archaeological evidence, etc., etc.
