June 23 – Trading the real Jesus for a false Christ. John 1:1, 14; “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

Here’s another opportunity to look at the wording in the documents of the Church. Once again Joseph Smith took away the Deity of our Lord Jesus, and made Him out to be a created being instead of placing Him in the position of God Himself.
Note: The link for the JST comes from the RLDS Church, not the main LDS Church headquartered in Salt Lake City, UT. Because of copyright issues, the mainstream LDS Church doesn’t provide the text of the JST. For more info see Centerplace.org.

Joseph Smith’s New Translation of the Bible; John 1:1, 14; “In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. And the gospel was the word and the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God. 14 And the same word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
I always found JST’s John 1:1, 14 to be extremely convoluted and wonder why any Mormon wouldn’t be scratching their head!
When I was LDS I didn’t even know it existed.
Neither did I — it was something I found after I became a Christian and began in-depth study of Mormonism. I found a lot of stuff they pretend doesn’t exist.
This is why the mormon church has the 8th Article of Faith. The 8th Article of Faith places doubt on the validity and authenticity of the Bible. The church then tells its members not to fear, however, because they have the BOM, which is, the most perfect book ever written. The church today, however, faces a huge problem with the Internet and the exposing of the BOM
