Like many things in Mormonism, a grain of truth is usually mixed in with lies. Case in point today is the one verse in Doctrine & Covenants below. They’ve attached links to key words inside the verse leading readers to faraway lands that contradict their own tenets, and has nothing to do with what you just read.
All that aside, we’re taking a look at the contradiction Joe Smith obviously inserted into his sacred prophecies. The other side trips they take you on will be explored at another time. We’ve left them intact here to show the rabbit trails they take readers on.
Doctrine and Covenants 130:11 “And a white stone is given to each of those who come into the celestial kingdom, whereon is a new name written, which no man knoweth save he that receiveth it. The new name is the key word.”
When/if you follow their links, you’ll come to Smith’s use of the Bible defending their practice of the new names people receive when they go through the temple.
Isaiah 62:2 “And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.”
And here another problem manifests itself immediately!
1.They’re not in heaven yet.
2.God is the one who gives the new names, not the Church, yet that doesn’t seem to deter them at all. We posted on their practice of this a few weeks ago in ‘Lies about Mormon Temple Names’.
In the next day or so we’ll be posting on their same tactics they’ve used in their new Ministering agenda, and the lessons on their false teachings of ‘Self Reliance’.
We’re asking for Christians to be on their knees. The lies of the Church seem to get more brazen as time goes on which is absolutely heartbreaking!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
joseph really had a thing for stones. Peep stones and stones that give off light and stones that can offer direction. Now, he talks about white stones that have secret names written on them. Why in the world would God require each and every resident of his kingdom to carry around such a stone?
because the bogus info takes members on another rabbit trail they’ll never come to the end of which in turn takes attention away from the Lord. sigh…
