Like many things in Mormonism, a grain of truth is usually mixed in with lies. Case in point today is the one verse in Doctrine & Covenants below. They’ve attached links to key words inside the verse leading readers to faraway lands that contradict their own tenets, and has nothing to do with what you just read.

All that aside, we’re taking a look at the contradiction Joe Smith obviously inserted into his sacred prophecies. The other side trips they take you on will be explored at another time. We’ve left them intact here to show the rabbit trails they take readers on.

Doctrine and Covenants 130:11 “And a white stone is given to each of those who come into the celestial kingdom, whereon is a new name written, which no man knoweth save he that receiveth it. The new name is the key word.” (more…)

‘He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.’ Revelation 2:17

 Based on the Bible verse above, why is the LDS Church handing out new names for heaven?

‘New names’ given to temple worthy Mormons have no place in a Christian’s life, and today you’ll see how the Church has taken one verse from the Bible and twisted it to their own use. This isn’t from the Lord, moreover, it’s like they’re dangling a carrot of salvation in hopes someone will fall for their trickery.
