October 12 – Holy Spirit withdraws from earth? Psalms 139:7 “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?”
_____
John 14:23 “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”
The Lord never declared He was withdrawing His Spirit from the earth. Such a statement would put Him in the same category as the Mormon god who can’t keep promises. The Lord promised He would never leave us. The word “abode” means to tarry. Why would He say this if He didn’t mean it? Moreover, His word consistently states His Spirit is always here. Why wouldn’t a church want its adherents to know this?
Smith’s lies about the Christian churches, and God’s Holy Spirit was a false prophecy he made in August 1831. The reference below has footnotes for D&C 63:32.

Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 16 “The Lord declared to His servants, some eighteen months since, that He was then withdrawing His Spirit from the earth; and we can see that such is the fact, for not only the churches are dwindling away, but there are no conversions, or but very few: and this is not all, the governments of the earth are thrown into confusion and division; and Destruction, to the eye of the spiritual beholder, seems to be written by the finger of an invisible hand, in large capitals, upon almost everything we behold.”
