Journal of Discourses 13:195 “This law of monogamy, or the monogamic system, laid the foundation for prostitution and the evils and diseases of the most revolting nature and character under which modern Christendom groans, for as God has implanted, for a wise purpose, certain feelings in the breasts of females as well as males, the gratification of which is necessary to health and happiness, and which can only be accomplished legitimately in the married state…” — Orson Pratt, Salt Lake City, October 7, 1869
Isaiah 30:1 “Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin”.
Whatever happened to holding ‘all things captive to the obedience of Christ’? 2 Corinthians 10:5
Mr. Pratt seemed busy with his false accusations against Christians, while ignoring the problems he helped cause in his own neighborhood. He was married to ten women, and the father of 45 kids. His 1st wife left him, and he married the 10th wife who was younger than his daughter.
Lastly, as we’re all aware, Jesus advocated the ‘monogamic’ system of marriage when he said ‘a man shall leave his mother and father, and cleave to his wife’ — Matthew 19:5.
Why would He say this if polygamy was the preferred method of marriage?
How could monogamy be the foundation of disease, and evil?
We pray that if you’re LDS, you’ll compare the teachings of past apostles and prophets against the Bible. In Him there is no confusion as you’ve seen in this LDS reference today.
With Love in Christ;

“Certain feelings in the breast of females as well as males”??? TMI…Gross.
There is a very, very, rare disease isolated to the Utah/Arizona border known as “Shortcreek”, called Fumarase defiecincy. It develops if a person inherits two faulty copies of the gene, one from each parent. It has been on the rise since the early 1990’s in the polygamist FLDS sect. You can Google Fumarase defiecincy for more info.
So…. I guess God was wrong to establish monogamy?
Los of dirty old men were attracted to the Mormon Church because of their belief and justification in men having multiple wives. For a man to marry a woman that is younger than his own daughter, is not normal.
What would those same Mormon leaders think of women having multiple husbands? They would call that adulterous behavior and swift punishment would likely follow.
In the Mormon Church, you have to be a Priesthood Holder in order to legitimize infidelity and a perverted lifestyle
