October 31 – Dissing the Symbol of Christianity. 1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

Yesterday we read the words of the LDS prophet, Howard Hunter, who declared the symbol of Mormonism is their temples. Today we’re looking at another contradiction in Mormonism when their prophet, Gordon Hinckley, announced the symbol of Mormonism is actually the members of the Church.
Tragically, neither of these so-called inspired leaders mentioned the cross, let alone Jesus who’s supposedly the namesake of their organization.
Why is there no mention of the Lord? Can you imagine what He must think of this?
This is seriously heartbreaking, first of all for our dear sweet Jesus, as well as for those who are being tricked into believing the lies of this church. They’ve done a good job at fulfilling what Paul told the Corinthians.

“…If you do not use the cross, what is the symbol of your religion?” I replied that the lives of our people must become the most meaningful expression of our faith and, in fact, therefore, the symbol of our worship.” — Gordon B. Hinckley, Ensign, ‘The Symbol of Our Faith,’ April 2005
I believe that God was influential in the thought process of the LDS leadership when they decided not to display the cross. God (I believe) did not want his Gospel to be identified with the Mormon Church. Thus, he prompted it’s leaders not to relate the message(symbol) of the cross with Mormon doctrine
Awesome point Soldiermp!
