‘And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.’ Revelation 1:5
LDS Gems, ‘The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles’ “He instituted the sacrament as a reminder of His great atoning sacrifice. He was arrested and condemned on spurious charges, convicted to satisfy a mob, and sentenced to die on Calvary’s cross. He gave His life to atone for the sins of all mankind. His was a great vicarious gift in behalf of all who would ever live upon the earth. We solemnly testify that His life, which is central to all human history, neither began in Bethlehem nor concluded on Calvary. He was the Firstborn of the Father, the Only Begotten Son in the flesh, the Redeemer of the world.” — The Apostles
Doctrine and Covenants 19:18 “Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink—” — Joseph Smith revelation, 1829
Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
The declaration of LDS apostles is a lie, so don’t be fooled!
1.Their own prophet declared that Jesus paid for sins in the Garden of Gethsemane, and we see that in their canon from D&C 19:18.
2.Jesus didn’t die for all who would ever live on earth. The effects of Jesus’ sacrifice began at the time of His death, not before.
3.The comment that Jesus was the only begotten in the flesh alludes to their belief God had sex with Mary. This ungodly doctrine is a common theme throughout Mormonism.
4.Mormon doctrine does NOT agree with their statement Jesus’ death was a gift. 2 Nephi 25:23 states we’re only ‘saved by grace after all we can do’.
5.If Jesus’ life didn’t conclude at Calvary, why are they performing baptisms for the dead? 1 Corinthians 15:29.
Oh beloved, make sure you read the fine details, and share them with a Mormon today!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
Mormons believe that every word spoken by their Prophet or a General Authority during General Conference is scripture. Thi=ose talks are then published in the Ensign magazine. After General Conference, Mormons will often spend the next four or five Sundays discussing and teaching from the talks. These talks are considered my Mormons to be scripture study. Mormons believe in two sets of scripture; the Standard Works (Bible, BOM. D&C and Pearl of Great Price) and the Words spoken by the General Authorities. IF.A GENERAL AUTHORITY SAYS SOMETHING CONTRARY TO WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE, THE GENERAL AUTHORITIES WORDS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE
