November 11 – Man Is Created — Not Eternal. Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

It may seem redundant at times to go over the same scriptures that are simple to you and me, but whenever you’re dealing with a Mormon these things are sometimes the hardest to grasp. Look up the word created from a Webster’s dictionary, and share your findings with a Mormon today.

“In 1833 the Lord revealed to the Prophet Joseph Smith that “man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be.” (D&C 93:29.) Several years later, with the publication of the book of Abraham, additional information about the immortality of the soul of man came to light. Abraham says that he was shown by the Lord “the intelligences that were organized before the world was” (Abr. 3:22). The Lord also told Abraham that these intelligences or spirits “have no beginning; they existed before, they shall have no end, they shall exist after, for they are gnolaum, or eternal” (Abr. 3:18).” Brent L. Top, The Life Before [Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1988], 39.
The Book of Abraham has already been proven false in it’s origins, much like the Kinderhook Plates. Why in the world the Morsons still follow the teaching of the BOA, is beyond me. Personally, I believe that either: a) they refuse to announce to the members that papyra that the Book of Abraham was allegedly written on was nothing more than words that were to be recited during an Egyptian funeral: b) they are too lazy and dumb founded to replace the BOA with something else, because they they did, it was cast a bad light over everything that Joe Smith had written or talked about.
