November 17 – Just one temple at a time. Ezra 6:5 “And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place them in the house of God.”

This verse is just an example to show there was never but one temple at a time built for the Lord. There have been two temples built over the course of history, but there’s only been one at a time. The Babylonians had many temples though, and you’ll see in today’s quote the Mormons have it wrong again.

Alma 16:13; “And Alma and Amulek went forth preaching repentance to the people in their temples, and in their sanctuaries, and also in their synagogues, which were built after the manner of the Jews.”
Jesus never commanded His disciples to go and build a bunch of temples…in fact He told them in John 2:19, He said ” destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up”. Meaning Jesus is now our Temple. He was raised on the third day. We no longer need a temple to offer sacrifices for sin. Jesus was the perfect and final sacrifice.
More proof that Joseph Smith had no idea about what the REAL Israel did in the way of worship.
Those temples, sanctuaries and synagogues that are mentioned in Alma 16:13, are typical of the Book of Mormon descriptions of mighty cities, towns, villages and battles where hundreds of thousands of people were slain. Where is the archeological evidence of anything mentioned in the BOM? The answer to that question is that there is
ZERO evidence of anything described in the BOM. Brigham Young University used to hire teams of archeologists to scan the globe looking for evidence of the civilizations described in the BOM. The conclusions these archaeologists reached were not what the church wanted. Some of these archaeologists actually left the church after concluding their studies
