Mormon Doctrine of Deity, p. 256 “What are angels? They are intelligences of the human species. Many of them are offsprings of Adam and Eve. That is they are men, who have, like Enoch or Elijah, been translated; or, like Jesus Christ, been raised from the dead; consequently they possess a material body of flesh and bones, can eat, drink, walk, converse, reason, love, fight, wrestle, sing, or play on musical instruments. They can go or come on foreign missions, in heaven, earth, or hell; and they can travel space, and visit the different worlds, with all the ease and alacrity with which God and Christ do the same, being possessed of similar organizations, powers and attributes in a degree.”— B. H. Roberts, LDS Church Historian, 1903
GotQuestions.org “Angels are spirit beings (Hebrews 1:14) without true physical bodies. Although they do not have physical bodies, they are still personalities.”
We just have one question today.
Where is Mr. Roberts’ theory in the Bible?
Please, pray for those who believe the most outlandish things about our dear Lord and His creation. Although Mr. Roberts lived over a century ago, the majority of LDS members are being taught things today just like the reference listed here.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
“They possess a material body of flesh and bone, can eat, drink, fight, wrestle, sing etc. You have got to be kidding me, right? In 1 Corinthians 15:50, the Bible tells us that flesh and bone can not inherit the Kingdom of God. It we are to believe the Mormons, neither God or his Angels are allowed inside God’s own kingdom
Since angels were created before mankind, they cannot be the same!
Great insight! We’re praying Mormons will stop and think about what their leaders say, and compare it with what the Lord has said in His word!
