“Any of us who has prejudice toward another race needs to repent!”
Those words came from a statement published in the LDS Church News earlier this week. The Mormon prophet’s impassioned plea for peace, and repentance, hides itself in the shadows of history, not to mention their beloved canon; the Book of Mormon.
Their concern about racism falls way short, even by Mr. Russell’s own standards. Today we’re waiting for any sign of repentance from the Church for teaching the blasphemous theology they hold so dear.
Make no mistake beloved, my heart grieves for the predicament the Church has put its people in with this topic. I can’t help but wonder what members like my own mother must be thinking right now. If they agree with their prophet, what should they do with the canon?
The only obvious option they have is to denounce all past statements made by leaders, and toss their canon as well. The corner they’ve painted themselves into grows smaller with each passing day.
For the record, I can’t count the number of discussions my mother, and I have had over this issue alone. She’s told me numerous times I’ve taken what they teach out of context. When I try to explain it’s impossible to take ‘lazy and loathsome’ out of context, our conversations immediately shut down. It’s devastating to me, and I’m sure I’m not alone. See Racist Mormon Scriptures for info. We counted no less than 35 racist verses in their canon, and this doesn’t include the number of times their leaders have outright made racist remarks.
We have to ask why they haven’t denounced these blasphemies, and why they’re still claiming these things are from God? See Racism in the Mormon Church.
In sharp contrast was the sermon my pastor preached last Sunday on Matthew 5:16 which reads,
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
He reminded us how the body of Christ grew in the very beginning, and ironically, circumstances in the first to second century AD, had one major similarity to what we’re going through now. Christians at that time were hunkering down in their homes for safety.
It was illegal to be a Christian at the time, and many believers stayed where they were unless they had to go out for provisions. While they were out, however, the behavior they exhibited didn’t go unnoticed by others. They obeyed the Lord’s teachings by being good citizens, and went out of their way to provide blessings to others. Their demeanor, and sharing the truth about the Lord’s gospel, brought many to Him.
Naturally, we have to wonder if the doctrines of Mormonism are a shining light of good news, or a warning siren of danger.
Please, pray for Jesus to open the hearts of those who are tied to the lies of their heritage, and break free! We pray the circumstances in this country will serve as another reason to embrace a saving knowledge in Christ Jesus and Him crucified!

The Words spoken by Jesus in Matthew 10 and 24, are coming to fruition today. There will come a time when the people will flee to the mountains to get away from the turmoil in the cities.
