Achieving a Celestial Marriage, p. 1 “There is probably no decision in all of life, and perhaps in eternity, that has a more profound effect on our eternal destiny than that concerning marriage.”
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Mark 12:24-25 “And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.”
Psalm 49:16-17 “Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; 17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.”
There’s nothing as heartbreaking as the LDS reference seen above.
Their statement has made it clear they’ve dumped Jesus for the false idea that eternal sex is true salvation. We’ve only listed three bible verses exposing the depravity of Joe Smith’s false doctrine.
We pray that Christians in a loving manner will demonstratively show how the LDS doctrine is all for naught. According to Jesus, there’s no such thing as marriages in heaven, and as far back as BC 539 we read the dismay of Korah’s sons in Psalm 49 telling their father he can’t take his riches with him when he dies.
All of these are solid examples of why marriages in heaven aren’t part of God’s plan. Moreover, we have to wonder why Jesus isn’t the most important subject in the life of Mormons!
Although the Church has retired the Achieving a Celestial Marriage Manual, they’ve replaced it with others. You can find the same heretical doctrines rearranged in new books like Doctrines of the Gospel.

Wonderful post. However, when I quoted Matt 22:30 to my lds daughter, she told me that is why one MUST marry on earth b/c in heaven it will be too late. No more marriages will be performed. Nice bait and switch, I’d say. A very sad twisting of the LORD’s Word to all the earth.
BTW, I stumbled on an article by David H. Yarn, Jr…..religion prof at BYU on this subject. If you have time to find it and read it, any comments to share would be great.
So, what happens to those who died single before they were old enough to marry, or perhaps engaged but killed in an accident before marriage? etc
Mormons teach celestial marriage but the Bible doesn’t mention it. It is not a prerequisite to eternal anything. Not everyone gets married. Our lives are to be lived loving God above everything else. So much of Mormon teaching (I was raised Mormon) is about people, their kingdoms and the burning in the bosom. That is not Biblical at all.
