General Conference, ‘Beware of False Prophets and False Teachers’, October 1999 “…there are false prophets and false teachers who have or at least claim to have membership in the Church. They declare that the Book of Mormon and other canonical works are not ancient records of scripture. They also attempt to redefine the nature of the Godhead…
… False prophets and false teachers are those who arrogantly attempt to fashion new interpretations of the scriptures to demonstrate that these sacred texts should not be read as God’s words to His children but merely as the utterances of uninspired men, limited by their own prejudices and cultural biases. They argue, therefore, that the scriptures require new interpretation and that they are uniquely qualified to offer that interpretation.” — M. Russell Ballard
2 Peter 2:1-3 “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.”
Oh, the irony. …
We’re on our knees praying for these dear people! The countless lies members buy into can take a toll, if it hasn’t already. Their own prophet arrogantly tried to redefine the nature of God based on his own denial of God.
Please, pray they take heed of the warnings from God’s word, and apply it to their so-called apostles who roam about telling lies.
With Love in Christ –—

The blasphemous nerve to talk about God’s Word that way. They make it up as they go along and often throw past ‘prophets’ under the bus as the culture changes. Where is Zarahemla? Where is one sheet of brass/gold left behind for evidence? Garments, really? During Joe’s time, everyone wore long underwear. He threw a few button-hole markings on them and, voila…they were holy. Now garments are modern-day length. So much for those holy relics. Jesus drank wine and I don’t think He was a fan of multiple wives. The list is endless which points to cultish behavior, having nothing, nothing, nothing to do with the death and resurrection of the Savior and His finished work!
AMEN, AMENN, AMEN!!! I was thinking he had some nerve to say false prophets feel the need to reinterpret what scriptures say. I often wonder how they sleep at night…
