October 12 –– Trusting God’s Wisdom James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

James 1:5 has served as the battle cry of Mormonism since its inception. Joe Smith claimed he went to the woods and prayed this verse in his search for the one true God. Ask a Mormon how they can trust James 1:5 when they also claim God’s word has been translated incorrectly. See Articles of Faith 1:8. Whose wisdom did Smith rely upon? Would God contradict Himself? Also ask why the Church doesn’t know where the ‘Sacred Grove’ is located.

“Joseph Smith is the prophet of the Restoration. His spiritual work began with the appearance of the Father and the Son, followed by numerous heavenly visitations. He was the instrument in God’s hands in bringing forth sacred scripture, lost doctrine, and the restoration of the priesthood. The importance of Joseph’s work requires more than intellectual consideration; it requires that we, like Joseph, “ask of God.” Spiritual questions deserve spiritual answers from God.” — Neil L. Andersen, “Joseph Smith”

Which one of the at least eight versions of the first vision mentions seeing the Father and the Son? One version in Joe’s own handwriting only mentions seeing angels. And as you point out, if the Bible isn’t translated correctly, why do they count if as one of their standard works? A girl could get a headache trying to have all this make sense.
