November 3 – What is the Temple of God? 2 Corinthians 6:16-17 “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.”

On the LDS Temple Quotes website you’ll find a boatload of bible verses. As we all know, they’re grossly misappropriated in defense of the Church.
Our first problem with the use of these on their site is how the Church has maligned God’s word and has historically tossed it aside in favor of their canon. Making the claim that Bible has been mistranslated, one has to wonder what the criteria is when determining whether or not it’s legit.
The second problem lies in the way it’s used. The verse listed today was found on their site which is very misleading. Mormons don’t believe the Holy Spirit resides continuously inside the believer. D&C 130:22 tells us he can pack up and leave at will.
Of course the last problem is that they don’t believe the HS is omnipresent which means it’d be impossible to be with more than one person at a time, let alone the millions of believers who enjoy His presence each and every day.
Lastly, the question begs to be asked. Why do they need temple buildings if the believer is the temple of God?

LDS Temple Quotes; “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” — 2 Corinthians 6:16
[…] What is the Temple of God? […]
John 2:19 “Jesus answered and said unto them. Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up”.
The temple was temporary, no sacrifice made in the temple (singular), was permanent. Jesus was the final sacrifice.
Nothing done in the temple from was ever a secret. Nothing done in the LDS temple was ever done, from Moses to Jesus. Jesus rendered the temple obsolete. Joseph Smith didn’t “restore” anything.
For President Nelson, to order all these new temples is an insult to Jesus’ finished work.
Michelle, what was your experience in the temple? Or anyone else.
As I’ve never been in an LDS temple. Here I California I’ve been past the LA, San Diego, and Newport Beach, temples. I’ve also been past the SLC, and I was outside the Manti temple a couple of years ago.
But when they finish the Yorba Linda I do plan to take a tour before they dedicate it.
