‘As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me.’ Psalm 55:16
General Conference, ‘A Mighty Change of Heart: “I Have Nothing More to Give You”’, April 2022 “Experience a “mighty change of heart” by studying the scriptures, strengthening one’s faith in Jesus Christ, praying, fasting and covenanting to surrendering our hearts to Him. …
Maintain that mighty change by partaking of the sacrament, turning one’s life to the temple and loving and serving neighbors. … This change of heart is not an event; it takes faith, repentance and constant spiritual work to happen. …
As we participate in the conference this weekend, let the words of our prophets, which will come from the Lord, enter our hearts to experience a mighty change.
For those who have not yet joined the Lord’s restored Church, I invite you to listen to the missionaries with a sincere desire to know what God expects of you and experience that inner transformation.
…when we give our hearts to God, we are rescued from the raging seas of this life, and in the process we are refined and purified through the Atonement of Christ and become “children of Christ,” being spiritually “born of Him.” — Eduardo Gavarret [emp. added]
Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”
John 1:12-13 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
John 3:6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
Romans 8:14-15 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”
Galatians 4:29 “But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.”
1 John 5:1 “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.”
Today we have a few questions based on the quotes we pulled from a talk given by Eduardo Gavarret at the April 2022 General Conference.
1.How does someone turn their life to a building? Can a physical building change a person’s heart?
2.Mr. Gavarret stated ‘this change of heart is not an event’ but went on to explain when they let the words of their prophets enter their hearts, they can experience a change.
How is this not an event?
3.Mr. Gavarret said ‘…listen to the missionaries with a sincere desire to know what God expects of you…’.
How could a nineteen-year-old kid know what God wants for someone?
4.Mr. Gavarret also stated ‘when we give our hearts to God, we are rescued…’
Again, isn’t this an event?
Moreover, we don’t become ‘children of Christ’. We’ve listed six bible passages above showing that when a person accepts the Lord they become children of God, not Christ.
Be sure to ask the Mormon you know what they thought of this man’s talk and let them know what happens when someone accepts Jesus into their heart!
With Love in Christ —
Michelle
[…] Conference Quote: Turn Life to Temple, Hearts to God […]
At the Savior’s death on the cross, the veil in the temple was rent from top to bottom. No more burnt offerings, no more sacrifices at the altar, no more temple….the work was finished. No long undies, no handshakes, no aprons, no extra wives. God Almighty wants to be first in our hearts, minds, and souls. The problem with the LDS church is they make everything about the people……Families are not forever. God is forever and we are meant to praise and adore Him, not as married people but as His children. We are the Bride of Christ. The Bible is very clear on that. Preaching this other ‘stuff’ is worthless tripe. (Sorry I rambled on. Sometimes I get so upset because some of my family members still believe the lie.)
Please, don’t apologize! 😉 I have an entire website filled w/ their lies. My heart hurts just as yours does and if our hearts hurt, imagine what our Lord must think… Sigh…
