May 4 — Conquering the World. Hebrews 10:19-20 “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh.”

What a relief for the weary soul in knowing Jesus made direct access to God a possibility! No matter where a believer goes, His Holy Spirit is right there. 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19. No temple recommend necessary!
In response to Mr. Bednar’s comment in his General Conference talk, we have to ask how they’re going to ‘conquer the world’ inside a building no one else is allowed to enter?
1 John 5:4 states only those who are born of God will overcome the world. (BTW, the Greek transliteration for overcome is conquer.) The Mormon people disqualified themselves from the ability to do this because they’ve rejected the Jesus of the Bible. Their Jesus is a created being, literally begotten by an exalted man.

General Conference, “Let This House Be Built unto My Name”, April 2020 ‘We do not come to the temple to hide from or escape the evils of the world. Rather, we come to the temple to conquer the world of evil.’ — David Bednar

“We do not come to the temple to hide or escape the evils of the world”???
So, I’ve been following the Lori Vallow trial, (so bizarre).
Both Chad and Lori had valid temple recommends. Investigators were able to track their temple attendance by tracking their swipes. They noticed several patterns. They didn’t walk in together but, their swipes were In a few minutes of each other. On one occasion while they were both still married to their spouses they met up inside where Chad performed a mock ceremony by sealing themselves for all time and eternity. So they both entered the temple for deceitful purposes.
The investigator also noticed they both went to the temple within about 12 hours before one of their victims turned up dead. So were they going there to get confirmation from heavenly father to kill their spouses and Lori’s 2 kids?
Chad and Lori were using the sacred LDS temple for their own secret and deceitful shenanigans.
So YES! Mr. Bednar you are partly right. Because they were there to “Conquer the world of evil” as they saw fit.
It’s a sick world…ugh…
I go out of my way to not watch the news. Sometimes that’s good and other times not so much. That said, I’ve not heard of this story you mentioned – I searched and found the info to clue me in.
This scenario is proof positive they’re a den of thieves. Why wouldn’t someone have known? It makes me wonder what the investigators were thinking considering they were/are probably Mormon as well considering they’re in Idaho.
How very sad for all involved. 🙁
