September 19 — Joseph Smith Gave His Life. Ensign, ‘Joseph Smith among the Prophets’, June 1994 “The life of Joseph Smith was in some degree patterned after that of the Master, Jesus Christ. That pattern holds true even when extended to its tragic conclusion. Like his Master, Joseph Smith also shed his blood in order that the final testament, the reestablishment of the new convenat [sic], might be in full effect.” – Robert Millet

We’re wondering whose life was spared and whose sins have been forgiven because Smith was killed in a gunfight in Carthage, Illinois?
What purpose did it serve eternity when Smith shot and killed two people?
What part of Smith’s life was patterned after the life of Jesus?
Smith’s idea of a new covenant was polygamy. There’s nothing in Jesus’ life or teachings that remotely hints at such a thing.
Mr. Millet’s article served as another example of how the Church elevates Smith while demoting Jesus. Although this talk was given ten years ago the Church’s tactics haven’t changed.
Pray for Mormons to worship Jesus and ditch Joseph Smith!

[…] Joseph Smith Gave His Life – Robert Millet […]
“Joseph Smith also shed his blood in order that the final testament, the reestablishment of the new convenat [sic], might be in full effect.”
Smith had been arrested for illegal activities (destroying a printing press, e.g.) and that had nothing to do with any “new covenant” rather it was covering up adultery and trying to get young ladies to give him sex (“marry him”).
He gave his life for illegal activities and he wasn’t martyred–HE SHOT BACK!
Amen to that! How I wish Mormons could see this!
