March 15 – LDS Conversion Means Self-Reliance. Mark 1:14-15 “…Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

All Christians should use Jesus’ method of preaching the gospel! His method was to call sinners to repentance, and then He told them to believe the gospel. Preaching the gospel without preaching repentance, is preaching a false gospel. If people aren’t told they’re sinners and need to repent, you’re not giving a reason for them to understand why they need the Savior.
Mormons have been tricked into believing they’re not sinners. They believe conversion isn’t a onetime thing, but something that is a continual work in progress. They believe this because they’ve rejected the Bible’s teachings of original sin.
Notice in their teachings that conversion includes being spiritually self-reliant. They obviously believe they have no need for the Savior if they’re self-reliant. Share the passage in Mark’s gospel with them as you witness!

Liahona, ‘Coming to Ourselves: The Sacrament, the Temple, and Sacrifice in Service’, May 2012 “We become converted and spiritually self-reliant as we prayerfully live our covenants—through worthily partaking of the sacrament, being worthy of a temple recommend, and sacrificing to serve others.” — Robert D. Hales
_____
Remind the Mormon you know that Jesus never said you had to be temple worthy! He said to repent and believe the gospel! Needing to be temple worthy is bad news, not good!
