February 10 — Enos 1:5-8 “And there came a voice unto me, saying: Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou shalt be blessed. 6 And I, Enos, knew that God could not lie; wherefore, my guilt was swept away. 7 And I said: Lord, how is it done? 8 And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard nor seen. And many years pass away before he shall manifest himself in the flesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole.” — c. BC 421

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

This BoM verse has so many problems so remember what Paul said in Corinthians!
How could Enos be forgiven because of Jesus’ shed blood when Jesus wouldn’t be born for another 400 or so years?
Why does the BoM use the word Christ 187 times in the BC era?
Besides all that, Joe Smith said there was no Greek nor Latin on the plates he supposedly translated but Christ is a Greek word. Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 299.
Please share this info with a Mormon you know and ask for their opinion about these things!

[…] Sins Forgiven Through Jesus’ Blood in 421 BC […]
So much to take in. I remember the crazy stuff I was taught in Catholic school, and it always troubled me. Did the Mormon stuff plague you too, when you were young?
To Sage Brush –
I was thinking about this kind of thing when I wrote the article. I used to try and match up the verses in the BoM with the Bible they gave me as a kid. The Bible always contradicted what the BoM said. The dates were always way off.
When/if I’d take my concerns to my Sunday school teachers they’d tell me that I was too young to understand.
The last straw for me in trying to get help for my questions was when I was around 15-16 yrs. old.
Why did you finally leave Catholicism? How long were you in and were you multi-generational like I was in Mormonism?
I was 8th – 9th generation on my father’s side and 6th on my mother’s.
I knew 4 girls my age who weren’t Mormon. Two were Catholic, 1 Episcopalian, and 1 Methodist who was heavily into the Rainbow girls with the Masonic Lodge.
My contact outside those parameters was virtually non-existent.
My life is proof the Lord Jesus will meet you where you are! PTL!

I figured it was a scam at age 12. Stuck in Catholic school. My mom got saved when I was 18, then I got saved at 20. The nuns and priests did nothing but lies my whole childhood. I think of them very evil. If you questioned, they would say, you have to accept it. Contradictions and ridiculous like Mary was sinless because Jesus transmitted sinless to her while she was pregnant with Him. And she remained a virgin after she birthed Him. Such evil.
Sage Brush –
Wow! It’s awesome to hear about your mom – PTL! Are you two the only ones who left?
You’re right about their doctrine. It’s shocking how blasphemous people can be – Mormonism, Catholicism and all other
ner-do-wells.
It’s incredibly sad how mankind has done this to people. I can’t help but wonder what the Lord thinks. Sigh…
My mom is with the Lord now. It was amazing and it went like this. My mom got saved in 1978. It was quite impressive to me, because she had a bad smoking habit she tried every way to quit. Including hypnosis. When she got saved she was instantly delivered!
Then two years later, after many signs and wonders, I got saved in 1980. Then two years later, in 1982 my dad got saved. They are both with the Lord now. My brother and sister are not saved. Still think of themselves as Catholic.
Wow oh wow! The Lord is amazing, isn’t He?! We’ll be sure to pray for your brother and sister! Never give up hope.
As I always say, I still can’t believe He saved me of all people! 😉
Prayers for your catholic family. I grew up Catholic too. Left in 93. My mom, sister and one brother still catholic. My one brother passed in 91. My two other brothers aren’t catholic and either is my other sister. We are born again believers. My niece that was catholic is Mormon now. She went to catholic schools all her life. Prayers for all Mormons and Catholics.
Amen to that Mj! We’ll be sure to keep them in our prayers just as we’ve done thus far. It’s a good reminder for all of us – especially me!
I guess I should have included this in my reposting of my old articles with questions regarding the Book of Mormon since the last week of January–posted the last and 4th “episode” today.
I need to check this out – thanks for the heads up!
