Today we’ve pulled a few interesting things from a talk given by LDS apostle, Quentin Cook. To read their article in full see General Conference, ‘Bishops—Shepherds over the Lord’s Flock’, April 2021.
As a summary, Mr. Cook spoke at the priesthood session on the duties of LDS bishops and the role they should have in the lives of those under their care. Below is a list of the quotes followed by what the Lord has said in His word.
First and foremost, however, we mustn’t forget to pray for the salvation of the kids involved, and those bishops as well!

LDS Singles Told to be ‘Valiant’ – aka Married

Church News, ‘Hope in Christ’, April 2021 “The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles have counseled together in a spirit of prayer and with a yearning
to understand how to help all who feel alone or feel they don’t belong. We long to help all who feel this way. Let me mention, in particular, those who are currently single.
Brothers and sisters, more than half of adults in the Church today are widowed, divorced, or not yet married. Some wonder about their opportunities and place in God’s plan and in the Church. We should understand that eternal life is not simply a question of current marital status but of discipleship and being “valiant in the testimony of Jesus.”8 …
For many years, we have talked about “young single adults,” “single adults,” and “adults.” Those designations can be administratively helpful at times but can inadvertently change how we perceive others.
Is there a way to avoid this human tendency that can separate us from one another? … Let us call upon our members who are single to serve, lift, and teach. Disregard old notions and ideas that have sometimes unintentionally contributed to their feelings of loneliness and that they do not belong or cannot serve.” — M. Russell Ballard (more…)

The three talk summaries we’re looking at today are enough to show the fallacies in LDS theology. Pray for those who watched this conference, and bought into the lies! You can read the Church’s PDF which is where we originally retrieved them, and/or see their talks in the links we provided below.
One thing is certain. The Church continues to point inward to avoid pointing to Jesus.

SL Trib. — “… [Russell Nelson] opened by acknowledging the pain and suffering of the global pandemic, praising the members’ “resilience and
spiritual strength in the face of illness, loss and isolation.”
He celebrated the morning’s inclusion of speakers from “every populated continent on Earth.”
The blessings of the gospel “are for every race, language and people,” he said. “The Church of Jesus Christ is a global church. Jesus Christ is our leader.”
Nelson then added that “even a pandemic has not been able to slow the onward march of his truth.”
It has, however, thwarted proselytizing efforts. Convert baptisms plunged by nearly 50% last year as full-time missionaries had to be released and reassigned due to COVID-19.” (more…)

1 Corinthians 3:16 “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
General Conference, ‘New Temples’, April 2021 “President Nelson’s announcement today of 20 new temples
and their locations is unique not simply because of the historic number with specific locations. The prophet has now announced 69 new temples in the three years he has served as president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Church of Jesus Christ now has 251 temples announced, under construction or operating.” (more…)
