Doctrines of Demons in Mormon Temples

History of the Church 4:608; “Sunday, May 1, 1842.—I preached in the grove, on the keys of the kingdom, charity, &c. The keys are certain signs and words by which false spirits and personages may be detected from true, which cannot be revealed to the Elders till the Temple is completed. The rich can only get them in the Temple, the poor may get them on the mountain top as did Moses. The rich cannot be saved without charity, giving to feed the poor when and how God requires, as well as building. There are signs in heaven, earth and hell; the Elders must know them all, to be endowed with power, to finish their work and prevent imposition. The devil knows many signs, but does not know the sign of the Son of Man, or Jesus. No one can truly say he knows God until he has handled something and this can only be in the holiest of holies.” – Joseph Smith

If you believe what you like in the gospels, and reject what you don’t like, it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself. – Augustine of Hippo, Sermons
If you thought you misread the title of our post, it’s okay, you’re not alone. The first thing that came to my mind was the quote listed above.
The shameless applause for Joe Smith makes it difficult to believe they don’t venerate that man; everything they do revolves around their founder, Joseph Smith. Case in point is our subject matter today.
As an aside –
The image above was part of the chapter we’ve highlighted here. You’ll take notice of the occultic markings of the Nauvoo Temple behind Joe Smith. This type of imagery, along with their doctrines, are saturated with demonic influence everywhere Mormons look.

June 6 – Works of God’s Holy Spirit. Romans 8:26-27; “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

Astrology
While doing some research for an article we’re working on I came across an interesting piece of information in Mormon Doctrine written by Bruce McConkie who was a Mormon apostle. Now while many Mormons discount his encyclopedic work, the Church continues to sell his book and actually quote from it in articles and speeches.
The entry in Mormon Doctrine that caught my attention was on the subject of astrology. Interestingly enough the Church denounces the practice of astrology yet has many carvings on the outside of the Nauvoo and Salt Lake Temple of that very thing.

Testing for Truth
Part 1
This series was written by a friend of mine, Jared. He called the ministry one day and asked if he could help in any way. The three articles were a huge blessing to us and we’re praying the Mormon will look at them objectively and take them into consideration. So here we go – enjoy!
