Today’s post is a result of a couple of interesting quotes stemming from a PowerPoint a-wonderful-flood-of-light Presentation I found in a Google Web-cache. You can read it online, or watch a Video of Mr. Neal Maxwell’s presentation which contains most of what’s included in the PPT, The  BYU Youtube version is called, ‘A Wonderful Flood of Light’, but fair warning: it’s 45 minutes long!

OR, if those two formats don’t strike your fancy, you can purchase the book from Amazon. We found the book is actually a compilation of Joseph Smith quotes Mr.  Maxwell really liked, and the subsequent extolling of Smith, none of which had anything to do with God’s word.

The Re-translation (rewrite) of the Book of Commandments

salt lake mormon temple 2If you’ve been around the world of Mormonism for any length of time you’re sure to know the Doctrine and Covenants used to be called Book of Commandments.

This was a compilation of commandments revealed to Joseph and others but it didn’t take long before the original prophecies needed some tweaking.
