‘LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.’ Psalm 119:89
Our post today is a bit different than usual – PTL! Today we’re looking at two things that were totally new for me personally.
We’re starting with the verse listed above. For those who don’t know, ‘LAMED’ is the 12th letter of the Hebrew alphabet and it means to prick, or goad, as you would sheep. Hebrew4Christians.com is an excellent site to add for your everyday studies so be sure to check it out! It has some incredible info on ‘lamed’ you’ll not soon forget.
The other reason for pointing this out is a reminder for members of the LDS Church. We must always remember, no one has the right to add to God’s word. If you’re Christian, be sure to share your favorite verse from God’s word with the Mormon you know about this! (more…)

Jeremiah 31:15; “Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.”

Matthew 2:16-18; “Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. 17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, 18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.” (more…)

New Testament Student Manual, pg 25; “In the Inspired Version, the Prophet added the following verses to the recorded account of the Savior’s youth. “And it came to pass that Jesus grew up with his brethren, and waxed strong, and waited upon the Lord for the time of his ministry to come. “And he served under his father, and he spake not as other men, neither could he be taught; for he needed not that any man should teach him.“And after many years, the hour of his ministry drew nigh.” (Matthew 3:24–26, Inspired Version.) Although the word father in this passage perhaps refers to Joseph, yet the content of the passage certainly shows that Jesus was taught by his real father, God the Father.”

What is exaltation?
Encyclopedia of Mormonism, pg. 479; “It is available only in the highest degree of the Celestial Kingdom and is reserved for members of the Church of the Firstborn. This exalted status, called eternal life, is available to be received by a man and wife. It means not only living in God’s presence, but receiving power to do as God does, including the power to bear children after the resurrection (TPJS, pp. 300-301; D&C 132:19). Blessings and privileges of exaltation require unwavering faith, repentance, and complete obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

February 4 – John 1:1, 14; “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth”.

It’s always important to pay close attention to the wording of contracts, bosses, parents or anything else that is in authority in your life. You may miss a key element that could cost you millions of dollars, cost you your freedom or ultimately your own salvation.

Joseph Smith’s ‘New Translation’ of the Bible says in John 1:1, 14; “In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. And the gospel was the word, and the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God. And the same word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth”.
