Journal of Discourses 26:302 “…the Apostle Paul makes this declaration: “For to this end Christ both died and rose, and revived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.”
So it is with the Prophet Joseph Smith. He has gone before with the keys of this dispensation, after having lived and conferred them upon the authorities of the Church, even all that was necessary until he shall come again to build up this kingdom preparatory to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
He with others are helping to carry out the great work of the redemption of the dead. And this part of the work we are called upon to perform in the temples. To be baptized for them, to be confirmed for them, and to perform all those holy ordinances for your righteous dead, for your worthy ancestry, which you have done or shall do for yourselves, makes you to become saviors upon Mount Zion.” — Franklin D. Richards, Provo, August 30, 1885
Matthew 23:12 “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”
Today we have a few questions about Mr. Richards’ comments…
Where in the Bible does it say Smith will return before Jesus does???
Exactly what keys to this dispensation is Richards talking about?
Exactly what are Joseph and others doing to carry out the great work of the redemption of the dead?
If Mormons are going to be saviors on Mt. Zion, where is Jesus?
What else could be said showing how the Church venerates Smith?
The Church today still believes they’re the saviors on Mt. Zion – their temple works are proof of this!
Pray for Mormons to understand they can’t save themselves, let alone their dead relatives!

.Nowhere in the Bible does it say that a person is going to get a second chance to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior after they die. According to the Bible; “And it is appointed once unto men to die, but after that, the judgement.(Hebrews 9:27). According to Mormon beliefs, people that die without having confessed (acknowledged) Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, are put (confined) in Spirit Prison. They remain in Spirit Prison until they confess Jesus Christ as Lord and until somebody on earth (Mormon only), baptizes them (proxy)in a Mormon Temple. Think about this, a person dies, is placed in spirit prison, a prison guard (angel?) tells them they are in spirit prison because they did not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord while they were living on earth. The angel (prison guard), then asks the prisoner, do you now accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Whats the person going to say? Of course, I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. The angel then says, ” Very Good, now you just have to wait here in spirit prison until some Mormon baptizes you in one of their temples. Not only does Baptisms for the Dead contradict scriptures (Hebrews 9:27), it defies common sense.
