November 18 – One Man. One Death for All. Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
_____
So we die and then we’re judged. Nowhere in this passage or in others does it say that people will be presenting the gospel, and getting baptized by proxy for us after we die. In the reference for today even the LDS scriptures agree, but as you’ll see in tomorrow’s witnessing tip, they won’t. Also note this supposedly took place in 74 BC.

Alma 34:35 “For behold, if ye have procrastinated the day of your repentance even until death, behold, ye have become subjected to the spirit of the devil, and he doth seal you his; therefore, the Spirit of the Lord hath withdrawn from you, and hath no place in you, and the devil hath all power over you; and this is the final state of the wicked.”
I use this scripture (Hebrews 9:27), when discussing “After Death or Near Death experiences that people have claimed to have had. You know what Im talking about. The person that dies, goes to heaven, talks to God, sees Jesus, speaks with old family members, hugs the family dog that dies 25 years ago and generally has a great and peaceful time.. Of course, most of these folks wind up writing a book about their experience, make some money and then move on to wherever. This particular verse tells me that we only die once, not twice or numerous times. Next time you hear a televangelist talking about his/her latest trip to heaven or in some cases hell, think about Hebrews 8:27>
