‘For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.’ 1 Corinthians 14:33
Today we’re looking at more of the talk Henry Eyring gave at General Conference. His use of their canon from the book of Moses should cause great concern for those who listened to this man’s talk.
We pray they’ll stop to think about what he’s said, and question how Joe Smith’s claims could be true. To read his talk in full, see General Conference, ‘Sisters in Zion’, October 2020.
Mr. Eyring’s main message to the LDS women was a reminder to be a society without any ‘contention’, just as people were in Enoch’s day. Not surprisingly, he referenced Bruce McConkie because it helped this time around. Below are a few of his comments in black, and our comments in red.
‘…the Lord will lead us to become prepared to be like the city of Enoch. He has described through His apostles and prophets what that transformation to a Zion people will entail.
Elder Bruce R. McConkie taught…
Enoch, however, was faithful. He ‘saw the Lord,’ and talked with him ‘face to face’ as one man speaks with another. …
Where in the Bible does it say Enoch talked face to face with God? The Bible says he walked with God and then God took him into heaven – Genesis 5:24.
The Lord sent him to cry repentance to the world, and commissioned him to ‘baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son, which is full of grace and truth, and of the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of the Father and the Son.’ (Moses 7:11.) …
Why would God have Enoch baptize people? Enoch lived c. BC 3300. With that in mind, how did he call people to repent and have faith in Christ without any previous knowledge about Him?
Why did Moses (aka, Joe Smith), use the same terminology John used in his gospel, especially when they don’t believe in the Trinity? John 1:14 says –
‘And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.’
Enoch made covenants and assembled a congregation of true believers, all of whom became so faithful that ‘the Lord came and dwelt with his people… … ‘And the Lord called his people Zion…(Moses 7:18.) …
There’s nothing in the Bible telling us that God came down from heaven and dwelt with His people during this timeframe. In fact, this supposedly took place right before the days of Noah.
“After the Lord called his people Zion, the scripture says that Enoch ‘built a city that was called the City of Holiness, even Zion;’ that Zion ‘was taken up into heaven’ where ‘God received it into his own bosom;” and that “from thence went forth the saying, Zion is fled.’ (Moses 7:19, 21, 69.) …” — Henry B. Eyring
Where in the Bible does it say an entire city was taken up into heaven at the time of Enoch?
Lastly beloved, as we see here there’s no substance to what Mr. Eyring said. Moreover, it’s filled with anachronisms, and lies taken from extra-biblical resources.
Ask the Mormon you know why Joe Smith plagiarized John, and how Enoch could preach faith in Christ 3,300 years before He was born.
With Love in Christ;

Henry Eyring, like most of the church’s General Authorities, are counting on church members never to search the scriptures to see whether or not the things being spoken by church leaders are IAW God’s Word..Had the church’s earliest members been familiar with Biblical scripture, they would never have followed the teachings of Joe Smith.
The Bible says that my people are destroyed from a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). People need to familiarize themselves with God’s Word.If they do, they will know when they are being lied to, whether by church leaders or anybody trying to lead them down the dark path of destruction. “For thy Word is a light unto my feet and a lamp unto my path” (Psalm 119:105)
