November 26 – Is Salvation Only Through Mormonism? Romans 14:17-20 “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.”

October 12 – Trading the Trinity for Treacherous Lies. 1 John 5:6-7 “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.  For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

Conference Report, April 1980, p.100 “If we, as a people, keep the commandments of God; if we take the side of the Church on all issues, both religious and political; if we take the Holy Spirit for our guide; if we give heed to the words of the apostles and prophets who minister among us——then, from an eternal standpoint, all things will work together for our good.” — Bruce R. D&C 18:20 “Contend against no church, save it be the church of the devil.”

Doctrine and Covenants Student Manual, Section 18, pp. 35-36 “What Is the “Church of the Devil”? … Elder Bruce R. McConkie explained that “the titles church of the devil and great and abominable church are used to identify all churches or organizations of whatever name or nature—whether political, philosophical, educational, economic, social, fraternal, civic, or religious—which are designed to take men on a course that leads away from God and his laws and thus from salvation in the kingdom of God” (Mormon Doctrine, pp. 137–38).” (more…)

‘For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.’ 1 Corinthians 14:33

Today we’re looking at more of the talk Henry Eyring gave at General Conference. His use of their canon from the book of Moses should cause great concern for those who listened to this man’s talk.

We pray they’ll stop to think about what he’s said, and question how Joe Smith’s claims could be true. To read his talk in full, see General Conference, ‘Sisters in Zion’, October 2020. (more…)

The Promised Messiah: The First Coming of Christ, p. 133 “No doctrine is more basic; no doctrine embraces a greater incentive to personal righteousness . . . as does the wondrous concept that man can be as his Maker. It was revealed first to Adam, to whom—after his baptism, after he had received the holy priesthood, after he had walked in paths of righteousness—the Lord said: “Thou art one in me, a son of God, and thus may all become my sons.” (Moses 6:68)” — Bruce R. McConkie, 1978 [emp. added] (more…)
