Journal of Discourses 5:178 “Sisters, let us take a course that you may not be brought into these straits — that you may not have to take your children, and your budgets under your arms, and flee to the mountains. But if you do not listen to counsel, and begin today, you will have to do that; but if you obey counsel, you never will have to go into these mountains — no, never, while the earth stands.
We will stand on our own dunghill and crow, and the hens will crow, and the chickens will crow, and they will all crow long and loud, and you will not be able to tell the difference be- tween a hen and a rooster, nor between a rooster and a hen, for they will all crow the same tune. We will stand on our own dunghill and crow, and say what we please from this day, and they never will prevail against us — no, never; and I will prophecy it in the name of Israel’s God. [Voices: “Amen.”]” — Heber C. Kimball, delivered in the Bowery, Great Salt Lake City, Sunday morning, August 23, 1857.
Psalms 113:7 “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill”.
The transliteration for dunghill is ‘ʾshephôth’ in the Hebrew and means just what the English word implies – a hill of animal feces.
In Luke 14:35 Jesus said those who turn their backs on Him are fit only for the dunghill.
Many other references to the word dunghill indicate that God in His mercy, will pick us up out of the dunghill to save us.
In the world of barnyards, the only thing standing on dunghills are roosters proclaiming their dominance of the area.
We’ve listed today’s LDS reference as an example of what the early Saints listened to back in the day. It shows how their mindset was at the time, and how much control their leaders had over them because of the isolation they had imposed upon themselves by moving to Utah and controlling any outsider info from infiltrating the area.
We looked at part of Mr. Kimball’s speech a few days ago when he proclaimed the Holy Ghost is a son of God, and a man. In a few days we’ll be looking at another part of his speech to show more of how this group of leaders have confused the unknowing, and led countless people away from Jesus, not to Him.
Today we have to wonder, what purpose did Mr. Kimball’s words serve?
How did this glorify God and His Beloved Son Jesus?
Why would anyone take pride in proclaiming prophecies from a dunghill? The implication seems rather bleak.
Pray for those who believe the lies that were told by this man because the same lies are still being told today in the 21st century.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
🐓🐔🐤????🥺 Seriously??? I don’t go to church to hear about roosters and hens.
It’s telling is it not?
