Answers to Gospel Questions 3:207 “Question: “Why did Christ have to shed his blood in the atonement to relieve us of the responsibility of the fall?”
Answer: The reason that the blood of Christ had to be shed is because Adam was without blood before the fall. The blood came into his body afterwards. Therefore, it was necessary that the blood which came by the fall should be shed in the atonement.” – Joseph Fielding Smith
Leviticus 17:11; “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”
2 Corinthians 5:21; “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
Hebrews 9:11-12; “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” – Also see Hebrews 10:10-14.
There’s really nothing anyone can say in response to this false doctrine!
The Bible is pretty clear in its description of why Jesus had to die. The short answer is He selflessly did it to ransom man from the penalty of sin.
We published this a few years ago and I had someone email asking to repost it. We pray it helps those who use the resources as they continue sharing truth with the Mormon people!
Please, continue to pray for those who are confused about the flagrant false teachings of this church!

WOW!!! This is the first time I’ve heard of this bizarre teaching. Besides being heretical, it just lacks common sense!
Evil on parade. Satan in charge of lies, apparently, because that teaching is nowhere found in the Holy Bible. They may suggest faulty translation but making the Lord small is evil on parade.
