‘And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation.’ Acts 17:26
November 20 — Children of Apostates Will Have Dark Skin. Journal of Discourses 11:272 “Why are so many of the inhabitants of the earth cursed with a sin of blackness? It comes in consequence of their fathers rejecting the power of the Holy Priesthood, and the law of God. They will go down to death.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, August 19, 1866

Acts 10:34-35 “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.”

While we’ve looked at this particular quote by Brigham Young before there’s another angle to it that one of my daughters brought to my attention.
Because I’m considered an apostate now, she wanted to know why she and her sister aren’t black.
My oldest was born with an olive complexion and black hair but my youngest daughter is fair skinned and was born blonde.
Both my daughters know they won’t be sent to hell because of their skin color so Mr. Young’s prophecy is nothing but an empty threat.
Furthermore, why did Brigham Young contradict himself if this was from God? The Church teaches that man “will be punished for his own sins and not Adam’s transgressions” – Articles of Faith #2.
Why would my “sin” affect their salvation?
If you’re an ex-Mormon or even inactive in the Church, have your kids turned black?

Father forgive them. Nothing they say is from God. Mormons are nice people, I have heard. But they are so naive. The devil is a liar. And so was Joseph Smith and other so called prophets. God loves everyone. He created us all.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You are blessed and loved Michelle.💜💜
What makes this sad beyond the lies is how people believe this racist dogma. As you said, father forgive them!
I left the Mormon church 50+ years ago and my skin hasn’t changed color!!! Yep, just racist nonsense.
It’d be amazing if it did eh? Their racist views outweighed truth.
