October 16 — A couple of days ago we looked at two things Dallin Oaks said during his tenure as an LDS apostle.
Yesterday we all woke up to the news that he is now the 18th Prophet/President of the LDS Church.
It seems odd that someone would be called a prophet/president of a church. I’ve searched but haven’t found anything in the Bible that remotely suggests such a thing.
None of the apostles donned this title nor have any of the well-known OT prophets. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Moses nor Ezekiel have ever been crowned with this title. In fact, not even Jesus Himself was known by this.
Furthermore, for an organization that claims they’ve restored what was lost one would expect to find some vestiges of a long ago Christian or OT system. Instead, all we see is a new-fangled religion that looks like Hinduism, Masonry, New-Age and the Occult all rolled into one.
As members of the Church all rise to swear Oaks in as LDS prophet pray, they remember what the Lord said in Jeremiah 14:14 —
“Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.”
With Love in Christ —
