Donkey/Ass

Mosiah 5:14; “And again, doth a man take an ass which belongeth to his neighbor, and keep him? I say unto you, Nay; he will not even suffer that he shall feed among his flocks, but will drive him away, and cast him out. I say unto you, that even so shall it be among you if ye know not the name by which ye are called.”

Barley Crops in the Book of Mormon

Mosiah 7:22; “And all this he did, for the sole purpose of bringing this people into subjection or into bondage. And behold, we at this time do pay tribute to the king of the Lamanites, to the amount of one half of our corn, and our barley, and even all our grain of every kind, and one half of the increase of our flocks and our herds; and even one half of all we have or possess the king of the Lamanites doth exact of us, or our lives.”

No Polygamy for Joseph Smith, Sr.

Father of the Prophet, pg 74; “There are in the Church both ordained and natural patriarchs. An ordained patriarch holds the office of patriarch-called an “evangelical minister” in the revelation and gives patriarchal blessings to worthy members of the Church. By definition, a natural patriarch is one who has entered into the patriarchal order of celestial marriage in the house of the Lord, receiving for himself the blessings of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob… Father Smith was ordained as the Patriarch to the Church by the Prophet Joseph Smith on December 18, 1833…”

Temple Endowments: Can They Change?

Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg 91; “The order of the house of God as [sic] been, and ever will be, the same, even after Christ comes; and after the termination of the thousand years it will be the same; and we shall finally enter into the celestial kingdom of God, and enjoy it forever.”

Who or What has Existed Eternally

Joseph Smith – Seeker after Truth, Prophet of God, pg 158; “Here Joseph Smith again broke with existing false traditions. It had been taught that God created the earth out of nothing, by the fiat of his word. Instead, Joseph declared that the earth was made from existing materials. That is, the earth was organized rather than created. Latter-day Saints always speak of the “creation” of the earth in that sense.” – John A. Widstoe

Elders to Save American Constitution in Joseph’s Lifetime

Journal of Discourses 6:152; “It is said that brother Joseph in his lifetime declared that the Elders of this Church should step forth at a particular time when the Constitution should be in danger, and rescue it, and save it. This may be so; but I do not recollect that he said exactly so. I believe he said something like this—that the time would come when the Constitution and the country would be in danger of an overthrow; and said he, If the Constitution be saved at all, it will be by the Elders of this Church. I believe this is about the language, as nearly as I can recollect it.” – Orson Hyde, Salt Lake City, January 3, 1858

Those Who Die without the Mormon Gospel

Saved and go to Celestial Kingdom

D&C 137:7; “Thus came the voice of the Lord unto me, saying: All who have died without a knowledge of this gospel, who would have received it if they had been permitted to tarry, shall be heirs of the celestial kingdom of God.”

Unsaved and go to hell

Alma 34:32-33; “For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.33 And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.”

So which is it?

How can you believe in both books? How can you believe Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and trust his contradictions?

God Commanded Abraham to Practice Polygamy

D&C 132:34; “God commanded Abraham, and Sarah gave Hagar to Abraham to wife. And why did she do it? Because this was the law; and from Hagar sprang many people. This, therefore, was fulfilling, among other things, the promises.”

One God in Book of Mormon

Alma 11:27-29, 44; “And Amulek said: Yea, there is a true and living God. 28 Now Zeezrom said: Is there more than one God? 29 And he answered, No. 44 Now, this restoration shall come to all, both old and young, both bond and free, both male and female, both the wicked and the righteous; and even there shall not so much as a hair of their heads be lost; but every thing shall be restored to its perfect frame, as it is now, or in the body, and shall be brought and be arraigned before the bar of Christ the Son, and God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, which is one Eternal God, to be judged according to their works, whether they be good or whether they be evil.”
