boyd-k-packerA few days ago I was on the Church’s website, and came across a quote at the end of a page made by one of the LDS apostles, Boyd K. Packer. The name of the page was ‘Recent Messages from LDS Prophets and Apostles”.

The standalone quote was very telling, and I’ve been praying it’ll give pause to members of the Church when they come across it. Today we’re looking at a couple of things within the context of what he said.

boyd-k-packerI just read on the Mormon Newsroom website that Mormon apostle Boyd Packer died today.

We’re asking Christians to pray for surviving family members to know the real Jesus of the Bible. As we stated in Mr. Perry’s death, while we don’t like this man’s ideologies, we do grieve that he was espousing doctrines that so clearly deny our Lord.

L Tom PerryTo update our readers – Mormon apostle L. Tom Perry died today, May 30, 2015, at age 92. He died at his home in Salt Lake City around 3 pm local time. Here’s the link for further info.

We’re asking Christians to pray for his surviving family members to obtain a saving knowledge of Christ Jesus and Him crucified. While we don’t like this man’s ideologies, we do grieve that he was espousing doctrines that so clearly deny our Lord.

I think this is the one question I’ve asked and been asked more times than any other question in my 20+ years of experience in ministry.

It doesn’t matter what topic you choose within Mormonism to discuss or explore – that one question always makes an appearance. And I do mean always. Today’s example is no different.
