Journal of Discourses 8:211-212; “In relation to the way in which I look upon the works of God and his creatures, I will say that I was naturally begotten; so was my father, and also my Saviour Jesus Christ. According to the Scriptures, he is the first begotten of his father in the flesh, and there was nothing unnatural about it.” – Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, September 2, 1860

Bring Wives for Us!
Journal of Discourses 6:256; “I say to those who are elected to go on missions, remember they are not your sheep: they belong to Him that sends you. Then do not make a choice of any of those sheep; do not make selections before they are brought home and put into the fold. You understand that. Amen” – Apostle Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, August 28, 1852

False Apostle’s Faulty Memory
Journal of Discourses 6:29; “Do you suppose that God in person called upon Joseph Smith, our Prophet? God called upon him; but God did not come himself and call, but he sent Peter to do it. Do you not see? He sent Peter and sent Moroni to Joseph, and told him that he had got the plates. Did God come himself? No: he sent Moroni and told him there was a record, and says he, “That record is matter that pertains to the Lamanites, and it tells when their fathers came out of Jerusalem, and how they came, and all about it; and, says he, “If you will do as I tell you, I will confer a gift upon you.” Well, he conferred it upon him, because Joseph said he would do as he told him. “I want you to go to work and take the Urim and Thummim, and translate this book, and have it published, that this nation may read it.” Do you not see, by Joseph receiving the gift that was conferred upon him, you and I have that record?” – Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, November 8, 1857

Heber Chase Kimball 1801-1868
Life of Heber C. Kimball, p 425; “Thus it will be seen that Heber C. Kimball was the father of sixty-five children—truly a patriarchal household. His wives were noble women, devoted to the Gospel, lovers of home and children, good, friendly, hospitable, hard working and fine neighbors. They were true and faithful to their husband and proved themselves worthy of being the wives of the Great Prophet Heber C. Kimball.” – Orson Whitney

Brigham Young is LDS Dictator
Journal of Discourses 7:19-20; “What do you say, brethren and sisters? Do you not think it best for us to do right, each person individually being led by the dictations of the Holy Spirit, listening diligently to those who are appointed to lead, govern, and dictate this people? You know what I mean by this. President Young is our governor and our dictator. It is for me to walk with him, and for you to walk with those who go before you.” – Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, July 16, 1854

Speaking against Polygamy brings Damnation
Journal of Discourses 5:204; “President Heber C. Kimball said in 1855, “The principle of plurality of wives never will be done away” (Deseret News, November 7,1855.) Kimball also said, “You might as well deny Mormonism and turn away from it, as to oppose the plurality of wives. Let the Presidency of this Church, and the Twelve Apostles, and all the authorities unite and say with one voice that they will oppose that doctrine, and the whole of them will be damned”. – Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, October 12, 1856

Polygamy and Following Jesus
Journal of Discourses 5:204; “Some quietly listen to those who speak against the Lord’s servants, against his anointed, against the plurality of wives, and against almost every principle that God has revealed. Such persons have half-a-dozen devils with them all the time. You might as well deny “Mormonism,” and turn away from it, as to oppose the plurality of wives.” – Heber C. Kimball, October 12, 1856, Salt Lake City
