President Trump celebrates Mormon settlers on Pioneer Day

“Washington • President Donald Trump offered his “best wishes” to Utahns celebrating Pioneer Day on Tuesday [July 24], extolling the Mormons who escaped persecution to take on a challenging and dangerous trek to find a new home.

Parade for days of 47 2015Utah’s annual celebration of Brigham Young declaring ‘This is the Place’ is in full swing this weekend with the customary parades, fireworks, green jell-o. and rodeos. Utah spares no expense with each community from Brigham City to St. George, pulling out all the stops in remembrance of the ‘Days of ‘47’.

PioneersAh, Pioneer Days aka the “Days of 47”.  Hot sun. Parades, Closed banks & grocery stores. Pioneer regalia marching down the main streets of Utah’s biggest cities are all a tradition held every year in my beloved home state of rugged mountains and lush green valleys.

All these things can be experienced if you’re in Utah on July 24th.  Pioneer Days is the celebration marking the day Brigham Young rolled into Utah with other Mormons who pushed their handcarts from Nauvoo after they were unceremoniously kicked out of town.

Pioneer Days

Today we’re doing things a little differently – ooh, ahh!  🙂

Greek and Latin Words in the Book of Mormon Part 4

      As promised, here are the updated and revised results from our research of Greek & Latin Words in the Book of Mormon.  Our most significant finding is the realization that the more we studied the Book of Mormon; the heavier our hearts became as the list of words became endless.

     Our main concern and the reason we did this wasn’t for some vindictive purpose.  It’s motivated out of a deep concern for the Mormon people.  (As a personal side note here – each time I publish anything like this I do it out of the heartache I carry for my own mother.  The Lord has taken that concern for her and expanded it to include all the Mormon people.)
