Brigham’s Words are Scripture
Journal of Discourses 13:95; “I know just as well what to teach this people and just what to say to them and what to do in order to bring them into the celestial kingdom…I have never yet preached a sermon and sent it out to the children of men, that they may not call Scripture. Let me have the privilege of correcting a sermon, and it is as good Scripture as they deserve. The people have the oracles of God continually.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, January 2, 1870
1 Timothy 4:1-2; “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.”
I believe Young knew he was lying to the people and purposefully led many astray. There is no Celestial Kingdom, no families are forever, and definitely not a plan of salvation that includes men becoming gods.
your entire argument is based on opinion in this article. There is what President Young said, than your opinion. This site and information is a joke.

What’s so funny about Brigham Young saying that his words are scripture? They’re not scripture today because the Church has denounced many of his teachings, i.e. the Adam-God theory to name just one.
These things aren’t my opinion – they really happened. Brigham also said that he didn’t believe in the silly stories from the Bible that his mother told him as a child because they had nothing to do with what really happened.
My opinion that he did these things on purpose isn’t really an opinion as it’s been shown that he did in fact lead people away from the Jesus of the Bible. The Jesus of the Bible isn’t a created being. He’s not a polygamist. He didn’t appear to Joseph Smith…
If there’s something inaccurate on our site please let me know and I’ll correct it. Showing side by side comparisons of the Church’s prophecies and teachings with the Bible isn’t my opinion – those are factual texts with relevant information Christians need to know about – but especially the Mormons.
Know that we’re praying for you and hope to hear from you soon.
