‘Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let thy glory be above all the earth.’ Psalm 57:5
The psalm above is also a beloved song for Christians worldwide. It evokes believers to stand while singing, and reflect with awe the wonders of God Almighty, and the Power He alone holds.
Today’s LDS reference is a reminder of how the Mormon god is fixated on one thing, and that’s sex.
There’s absolutely no excuse for what Mr. Pratt said in his book, ‘The Seer’, and must be regarded as the highest form of debauchery. While everyone is familiar with Pratt’s explanation that the body of Jesus required both a mother and father, we thought it imperative to look at the rest of what he said.
The Seer, p. 158 “God having created all men and women, had the most perfect right to do with His own creation, according to His holy will and pleasure: He had a lawful right to overshadow the Virgin Mary in the capacity of a husband, and beget a Son, although she was espoused to another; for the law which He gave to govern men and women was not intended to govern Himself, or to prescribe rules for his own conduct.
One has to wonder…
How could someone possibly think up stuff like this? This is nothing less than incest if you believe LDS doctrines. Unfortunately, the longer he thought upon these things the worse it got…
‘It was also lawful in Him, after having thus dealt with Mary, to give her to Joseph her espoused husband.’
He’s made Mary out to be nothing more than a common piece of chattel.
Whether God the Father gave Mary to Joseph for time only, or for time and eternity, we are not informed. Inasmuch as God was the first husband to her, it may be that He only gave her to be the wife of Joseph while in this mortal state, and that He intended after the resurrection to again take her as one of his own wives to raise up immortal spirits in eternity.” – Orson Pratt, 1853
The Bible doesn’t ‘inform’ us of Pratt’s ideas because they’re nonsense. This is certainly one of the absolute worst things to say about God, and His miraculous work in providing us with a Redeemer.
Mr. Pratt’s teachings are also a good example of why the LDS people have no appreciation for Jesus. This type of mindset has been passed down from one generation to another.
As we approach this Holy Season, be sure to take time and share the truth of God’s love for us, and the miracle of Jesus!
With Love in Christ;

BUT, wasn’t she his daughter in the spiritual realm? So isn’t this incest? It was this bizarre doctrine which led me to dig further into the LDS until I finally declared it a cult and wanted no more to do with it.
“But there were false prophets among the people, who shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that brought them and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the truth shall evil be spoken of. And through covetousness, shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you.” (2 Peter 2: 1-3)
