September 8 — LDS Contradictions: Hell Doesn’t Exist. Joseph Smith-Seeker After Truth, pp. 177-178 “The meanest sinner will find some place in the heavenly realm…In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there is no Hell. All will find a measure of salvation.” — John A. Widtsoe [See The Vision of the Degrees of Glory D&C 76:89-106 that uses the phrase ‘…the meanest sinner’…]

Revelation 21:8 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

LDS teachings like this bother me the most. It’s as if Satan was right there guiding this man’s every word. Scary!
There is absolutely nothing in the Bible that teaches what Mr. Widtsoe tried to claim.
This book is filled with glowing adoration for Joseph Smith so it wouldn’t be difficult to see why Mormons worship their prophet. He’s just one in a long line of Mormons who think and behave the same way.
Lastly, it won’t take long to see Mr. Widtsoe’s lie when he said there’s no hell in Mormonism. The problem is that it contradicts what Joe Smith said in D&C 76:106 –
“These are they who are cast down to hell and suffer the wrath of Almighty God, until the fulness of times, when Christ shall have subdued all enemies under his feet, and shall have perfected his work…”
So, we have to ask the obvious —
Why did Widtsoe lie about there not being a hell in Mormonism? Members don’t have to read this guy’s book for the info above. All they have to do is read what it says in their own scriptures.
It makes one wonder if Smith would be proud of or angry with the lies this man told. Oh, the tangled web they weave…
With Love in Christ —
