Today we’re looking at a small portion of how the LDS Church defines grace. In the upcoming weeks we’ll be looking at this topic again.
Mr. McConkie’s definition was wrong on many levels, but the clincher is when he said that God’s grace consists of his love, mercy and condescension towards us.
The word condescension is a noun and it means to patronize, to feel superior, or have disdain towards something/someone.
This is obviously not a loving god!
Why would you choose to worship a god like this?
Do you patronize your children?
What about your loved ones or your boss?
There’s no mercy extended towards someone if you’re patronizing them!
If you feel superior to your boss, good luck with that.
Using demonstrative examples share with a Mormon how you know the Lord has graced you in your personal life!
