Recently the Mormon Chanel has been posting Yoga on their social networks. For some odd reason I was surprised that Mormons are into this type of spiritualism. Yet according to a Pew Research Study 27% of Mormons believe in this spiritual practice.

Romans 10:2; “For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.”
Today while rummaging around for info on an article I came across yet another interesting topic that captured my attention.
An article from NewsOK in 2009 released info about a Buddhist Temple that was built in Spanish Fork, UT. I wrote about the festivals last year and wondered how an Indian population had grown to the point of having such a large festival – but now I know eh?

With all that’s going on in the world today I’m reminded of a paper Kirk wrote for a college class comparing Mohammed with Joe Smith. I highly suggest reading it when you can!
For now here’s a side-by-side comparison of the two wanna-be-prophets.

The longer I study Mormonism the less shocked I am about things that go on in this religion and its home base of Utah. The other thing I’m sure of is that my grandmother and her fourteen siblings are probably rolling in their graves over this one – the majority of those siblings lived most of their lives in Spanish Fork.

We’ve seen a surge in our search engine reports and e-mails requesting more information on Mormonism compared to other world religions. In the twenty plus years I’ve been in ministry I’m seeing more and more similarities in these religions and Mormonism so I, along with my volunteers, find ourselves writing about this a lot!
So what are the similarities? You’ll be surprised to find there are more similarities than not when dealing with Mormonism. What we found odd is the Church seems nonplussed that outsiders point them out. Oh the tangled web we weave…
In light of that, we’ve pulled our articles together and yep, you guessed it – it’s in a widget to the right or you can check it out by clicking here! 🙂

I’m posting this chart in response to the many e-mails I receive asking for definitions on Witchcraft, Satanism and Mormonism. This chart is part of a PowerPoint presentation I use when I’m asked to lecture at churches and schools.
This chart doesn’t include the side-by-side examples of Mormon beliefs, but you can download a chart for that here. It’s called Handouts for Witnessing. Between all the Mormon scriptures, Witchcraft and Satanism you’ll be prepared in knowing how to defend your faith with the Bible & see why God abhors worshiping anyone or anything but Him!
