November 10 — Book of Ether Reveals Smith is False Prophet. Ether 4:6-7 “For the Lord said unto me: They shall not go forth unto the Gentiles until the day that they shall repent of their iniquity, and become clean before the Lord. 7 And in that day that they shall exercise faith in me, saith the Lord, even as the brother of Jared did, that they may become sanctified in me, then will I manifest unto them the things which the brother of Jared saw, even to the unfolding unto them all my revelations, saith Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of the heavens and of the earth, and all things that in them are.” (more…)

3 Nephi 15:21-22; “And verily I say unto you, that ye are they of whom I said: Other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. 22 And they understood me not, for they supposed it had been the Gentiles; for they understood not that the Gentiles should be converted through their preaching.”

Just something to think about…
Mormon Terminology: Gentile
To the Mormon, a Gentile is anyone who is not a Mormon, this includes the Jews.
“Having in mind the principle that Gentiles are adopted into the lineage of Israel when they accept the gospel, and that those who fail to believe the truths of salvation (no matter what their lineage) lose any preferential status they may have had, it is not inappropriate in our day to speak of members of the Church as Israelites and unbelievers as Gentiles.” Mormon Doctrine, pg. 311.
“For Latter-day Saints, “Gentile” generally means “not Latter-day Saint,”.” Encyclopedia of Mormonism, pg. 541.
I asked a good friend of mine who is a Messianic Jew how she felt about the statement that she is considered a Gentile by the Mormon Church. The look on her face said it all as she turned around and walked away without saying a word…
